Dolphin Lovina Dewata is run by a Lovina fishing family. The boat you step onto is the same boat that goes out to fish, and the captain taking you has been in and out of this water since before there were tourists on this beach. That is why we know where the pods usually pass, and why we know when not to push it.
Lovina faces north into the Bali Sea, which is far calmer than the south coast. Bottlenose, spinner and pilot whale pods pass close to shore most mornings, near enough that a small boat reaches them within half an hour.
We cut the engine when a pod surfaces and we do not chase. We do not cross a pod's path, we do not separate a mother from her calf, and we do not run a loud engine near them. If the pod looks unsettled, we back off. Sometimes that means you watch them from further away, and we choose that.
Everything we have already put on board and ashore, so the morning takes care of itself.

We cap each boat at ten people so the morning stays comfortable.
If the sea does not allow it, we move your trip to another morning for your safety.
We keep our distance and never chase a pod, so the moment stays calm.
Extraordinary experience. Left in a small boat just before the sun came up and got to see amazing sunrise views and watch the school of dolphins swimming in the Indian Ocean right next to our boat!!!
A great trip! We got to swim with the dolphins and snorkel. The staff was very kind and they give you a free lunch afterwards. There are also showers with soap to freshen up so that is great
